Studio Flooring

Studio flooring suitable for a range of activities.

Reflex Sports supplies and installs studio flooring for schools, leisure centres, gyms, universities, community facilities and dedicated activity spaces across the UK.

Studio flooring is for rooms used for dance, Pilates, group exercise, stretching, fitness classes or other movement-based activity. The floor needs to suit how the room is used, how busy it is, and what the existing floor or subfloor allows.

As independent sports flooring specialists, we can talk through the options before the specification is fixed and recommend a floor that suits the space in practice.

What we look at before recommending a floor

Before we recommend a studio floor, we look at what the room needs to support day to day.

That includes the activity, the timetable, the floor build-up, cleaning needs, access, acoustics and how much downtime the project can allow.

A studio used mainly for Pilates will not always need the same flooring approach as a room used for dance, group exercise or mixed community classes.

We can also advise where the studio forms part of a wider school, leisure centre, gym or sports facility, so the flooring works with the rest of the building rather than being chosen in isolation.

Studio flooring as part of a wider project

Where a studio sits within a school, leisure centre, gym or community facility, the floor needs to work for the room and the building around it.

That might mean thinking about access for installation, cleaning routes, acoustics, adjoining rooms, downtime and how the studio timetable fits around other activities.

If the project also includes a fitness suite, sports hall or other activity areas, we can review the studio floor as part of the wider flooring plan.

For existing studios, we can also look at whether the current floor still suits the classes, cleaning routine and level of use.

Studio flooring experience

We’ve worked on studio and activity flooring projects for schools, leisure centres, gyms and community facilities across the UK.

Recent projects include [relevant studio flooring case study to be added], where the floor was chosen around the activities taking place in the room, the existing floor build-up and how the space needed to work day to day.
