When your sports floor starts to lose grip, look dull or feel uneven, it is more than a cosmetic issue. It affects safety, performance and how your hall is perceived. Sanding and sealing is the most effective way to restore the surface without the cost of a full replacement. Reflex provides UK-wide sanding and sealing with dust-free technology and specialist sealing for Granwood and timber floors, helping you keep your facility safe, compliant and ready for years of use.
Discuss the best option for your floor
When a floor begins to wear, you notice it. Grip reduces, the surface dulls and marks remain even after cleaning. Left too long, these problems only become harder and more expensive to put right.
Sanding and sealing removes the damaged surface layer and applies a fresh protective finish. It gives you more years from the same floor, helps keep people safe and avoids the disruption of a full replacement.
Most sports halls require a full sand and seal every seven to ten years. High levels of use can shorten this cycle, while lighter resealing in between can extend it. When we assess your floor, you receive clear advice tailored to your hall so you can plan with confidence.
"Thank you so much, the floor looks fab – please can you pass on my thanks to your colleagues. Another fantastic job done for Eston!"
Every project begins with a detailed assessment of your floor. This allows us to confirm its condition, advise whether a full sand and seal is required or if a lighter reseal will achieve the right result, and set out a clear programme of work.
For solid hardwood floors, we carefully sand back the surface and apply a new seal to maintain the material’s renowned durability.
For timber floors, we restore the surface to a smooth finish before applying multiple coats of specialist sealant for long-term protection.
Once the schedule is agreed, preparation and sanding typically takes one to three days, depending on the size of the hall. Sealing is then carried out over the following two to three days, with drying time included. In most cases, your floor is fully ready for use again within a week.
Court Marking, if required, takes an additional two days.
We only use sports-grade lacquers that meet Sport England standards, giving you confidence the surface is safe, compliant and ready for heavy daily use.
